Foolproof Chocolate-Covered Strawberries (So Easy & Fancy!)
I can’t believe how easy this recipe is! If you’ve ever bought chocolate-covered strawberries from a fancy bakery (and winced at the price), you’ll be thrilled to know you can make them at home with minimal effort.
This is one of those recipes that looks like you spent hours in the kitchen when, in reality, it takes just minutes.

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, this is the perfect way to add a little romance to your dessert table. Whether you’re making them for a loved one, a party, or just because chocolate and strawberries are chef’s kiss together, you’ll love how simple yet impressive these turn out.

Just be sure your strawberries are completely dry before dipping—chocolate won’t stick to wet berries! And while these are best enjoyed the day you make them, they’ll keep in the fridge for up to three days.
Gather Your Ingredients
To make these beautiful chocolate-covered strawberries, here’s what you’ll need:
- Chocolate baking chips – Folks – use good quality chocolate here! I highly recommend Ghirardelli for the best flavor and smooth melting. Feel free to use white chocolate, dark chocolate, or a combination!

- Toppings:
- Crushed nuts (almonds, pecans, or hazelnuts)
- Crushed candy canes (for a festive touch)
- Sprinkles (hearts, gold flakes, or classic rainbow)
- Shredded coconut
- Mini chocolate chips
- Drizzled white or dark chocolate for an extra fancy finish

recipe tidbits: tempering chocolate
Tempering chocolate is basically a two-step process: First, you melt most of your chocolate until it’s smooth and warm. Then, you stir in some extra unmelted chocolate at the end, which cools it down and gives it that perfect glossy finish and crisp snap.

Why bother tempering? Properly tempered chocolate not only looks beautiful but also has the perfect texture—no weird streaks, no dull finish, just a velvety-smooth coating that hardens perfectly. Whether you’re dipping strawberries, making chocolate bark, or molding candies, the microwave method gets the job done with minimal effort and no special equipment. Just be patient, stir often, and trust the process!
